Mother’s Day is coming up on Sunday, May 12, which means it’s time to honor the mother or maternal figures in your life. Cooking up breakfast and delivering it to mom in bed or getting a bouquet of flowers may be the classic plans, but if you want to elevate and outsource the festivities and treats, here are some ideas to get you started – from gourmet chocolates to classic brunches to a foraging campout by the coast.

The Sea by Alexander’s Steakhouse

The menu includes an amuse bouche; a choice of heirloom tomato salad, eggs Benedict, clams or shrimp with vermicelli noodles as a first course; a choice of steak, chicken breast, salmon or seasonal ravioli as a second course; and choice of ube tiramisu, mochi doughnuts or guava cheesecake with candied kumquats for dessert. A $23 kids’ menu featuring a choice of chicken tenders and fries or pasta is also available.
