BOARD OF EDUCATION … The school board plans to hear a report on secondary school grades and the implementation of “no mark” and “no credit” options in place of the “F” grade. The board will meet on Tuesday, Feb. 13. The meeting will start with a closed session at 5 p.m. and an open session is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. in the district’s boardroom, 25 Churchill Ave. The meeting will also be broadcast on local cable television channel 28, Zoom and YouTube. COUNCIL POLICY AND SERVICES COMMITTEE … The committee plans to hear a quarterly report from the city auditor and consider changing the council’s policy to establish discretionary expenditures for council members. City Council (Feb. 5)
Mayor: The council directed staff to prepare for a 2024 ballot measure to change the City Charter and allow voters to directly elect the mayor. It also agreed to create a committee that would consider the details of the change, including whether the mayor would serve a term of two or four years.
