A Stanford University contractor was robbed at knifepoint at a parking lot near Lake Lagunita on Monday morning, the university’s Department of Public Safety announced.

According to the university, the contractor was leaving his car in the parking lot at 459 Lagunita Drive at 5 a.m. on April 29 when another vehicle pulled up next to him. The passenger from that vehicle reportedly stepped out of the vehicle and displayed a knife.

He then pushed the contractor back into his car, told him not to look at him and threatened to return the next day and kill the contractor if he looked at him, the university’s announcement stated.

The man then grabbed the contractor’s phone and a bag that contained his wallet. The car then left the area via Mayfield Avenue toward Campus Drive, according to the university.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call the university’s Department of Public Safety at (650) 329-2413.
