A 24-year-old man died near Skyline Boulevard on Saturday afternoon after the motorcycle he was riding drifted off an embankment just south of Alpine Road and crashed into several trees, according to California Highway Patrol.
The man was been identified by the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office as Christopher Damron Jr. of Santa Clara,
Police in the Redwood City area received calls shortly after noon on Saturday about a motorcycle rider who was down in an embankment in the area off State Route 35, also known as Skyline. He sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Police believe Damron was apparently going north on Skyline, just north of the Skyline Ridge Open Space Preserve, when he tried to negotiate a left turn. He allowed his motorcycle, a 1990 Yamaha, to drift to the right onto the asphalt and gravel shoulder and apparently lost control of the motorcycle. Damron then rode off the east shoulder of Skyline and down a 50-foot embankment, where he crashed with several trees before coming to rest.
Damron was wearing a helmet and police do not believe at this time that alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision.

So sorry to hear about another loss on those roads. A co-worker of mine lost control of his bike up there several years ago and also lost his live. Whoever you were may you rest in peace.
