■ Dance: Ballet Afsaneh

Folkloric and classical dances of Central Asia are the focus on Saturday (Feb. 12) when the Marin-based Ballet Afsaneh performs with Tibetan, Mongolian and Japanese soloists. The 8 p.m. performance is in Stanford University’s Dinkelspiel Auditorium and is part of the Pan-Asian Music Festival. Tickets are $10 general and $5 for students. ■ Music: ‘Songs from the Kitchen’

On Sunday (Feb. 13) at 7:30 p.m., the Oshman Family Jewish Community Center hosts a concert-slash-tasting of Yiddish and English songs, and dishes from the Jewish cooking tradition. Klezmer musicians Adrienne Cooper, Frank London and Lorin Sklamberg will perform, and cooking demonstrations will also happen on stage. The event takes place at 3921 Fabian Way, Palo Alto.
