A Major League Soccer game at Stanford Stadium Saturday night will likely cause heavy traffic along major streets, Palo Alto police are warning.

A full house of 50,000 people is expected as the San Jose Earthquakes play against the LA Galaxy.

Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m., but police predict increased traffic on Embarcadero Road, El Camino Real, Sand Hill Road, Oregon Expressway and surrounding streets beginning as early as mid-afternoon.

There will also be a short fireworks show at the end of the game.

Traffic will likely be affected in the area until well after 11 p.m., police stated in a press release.
