Beautiful story about a great program. What a gift to these children. I love the "in the box" concept.
My children grew up an were lucky enough to participate in Palo Alto Children's Theatre productions both at the theatre and in the "Outreach" program. Because they attended Ohlone School the theatre always did a play there every year. Many of the other schools didn't get one every year. This was because Ohlone is populated by students from all over the district and they believed in sharing their programs with as many children as possible.
The theatre work was critical in the development of so many skills for my boys......particularly the elder son as he was employed as the tech director for the outreach program and earned all his spending money during high school performing his duties, learning skills and helping other children to grow. Thanks to Pat Briggs, Michael Litfin (RIP), Rich and Allison who were the major staffers at the time my children was embraced into their theatre family.
I wish this Play in the Box great success and applaud their creative and innovative program providing theatre to children who would not otherwise have a chance to engage in this creative art.
There was no information about how individuals can donate funds for this program. Can that be provided?
