POLICE: Kidnapped baby found in Palo Alto9-month-old child was snatched from Sunnyvale home on Thursday
Police are searching for three gunmen who allegedly kidnapped a Sunnyvale baby Thursday morning and left her outside Taco Bell in Palo Alto where she was found 11 hours later.
The victim, 9-month-old Yecenia Solorzano, was snatched from her parents' Sunnyvale home just before 11 a.m. on June 11 by three Hispanic men, according to the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety. The men allegedly confronted the babysitter at gunpoint before fleeing in a 4-door red compact car that was last seen driving northbound on Bernardo Avenue in Sunnyvale, police said.
While police and federal agents searched for clues and responded to a ransom demand made by an unknown suspect to the baby's father, Benito Solorzano, the baby was discovered by a passerby in Palo Alto at 10 p.m. the same evening. Solorzano was lying in the grass in front of Taco Bell in the 3800 block of El Camino Real in Palo Alto, police said.
The baby was unharmed and was reunited with her parents soon after, according to police.
Sunnyvale police are currently investigating the incident and are searching for the kidnappers. A reward is offered for any information leading to the apprehension of the suspects. Police have set up a tip line at (408) 730-7794.
