Community notebookRESIST THE URGE . . . The Peninsula Humane Society warns parents not to be tempted to buy baby rabbits or chicks for their children this Easter. Contrary to popular belief, bunnies are not low maintenance, and take about as much work as a dog. They need to be housebroken, and should not stay in a cage all day. They also get scared when held, preferring to stay on the ground. If you have lots of time, and still want to care for a rabbit, contact your local animal shelter or rabbit rescue group. One such group is The Rabbit Connection, at 595-8573.
