SAMTRANS CALENDAR . . . SamTrans is giving away a 1997 monthly pocket calendar to all passengers who purchase a January monthly pass. The calendars will be available only at the SamTrans central office, 1250 San Carlos Ave. in San Carlos, while supplies last. January passes went on sale Dec. 20. GEORGE WASHINGTON CARVER DAY . . . The Healing Institute for Jobs, Recovery, Academics and Housing will celebrate the 54th annual Dr. George Washington Carver Day on Sunday, Jan. 5. LYME SUPPORT . . . The Mid-Peninsula Lyme Disease Support Group will host a talk by Victor Romano at its monthly meeting. Romano, who works for the Santa Clara County Vector Control Program, will report on the level of Lyme Disease and other tick-borne diseases detected in Santa Clara County. The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 14, in the Park Pavilion facility of El Camino Hospital, 2400 Grant Road, in Mountain View. For information, call 851-1787.
