BONE MARROW DRIVE . . . Stanford University will hold a bone marrow drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 1 in White Plaza. The drive is being held in the hopes of identifying a potential donor for a sophomore suffering from leukemia. The student is of Chinese ancestry, and someone with a similar ethnicity is more likely to be compatible as a donor. Potential donors will be asked to give a small blood sample. The student, Evan Chen, 20, from Walnut Creek, needs to have a bone marrow transplant within the next few months for his treatment to be successful.

MUSIC-BIZ INTENSIVE . . . A workshop, "Sign on the Dotted Line: An Intensive Workshop For Future Recording Artists" will be held at Foothill College, 12345 El Monte Road, Los Altos Hills, 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 3. Sponsored by the Northern California Songwriters Association and featuring Jay Gilbert, head of MCA-Uni Distribution; Neil Hellman, owner and president of Gourd Records; Mouna Wilson, vocal instructor; and Paul Wagner, music consultant, the workshop costs $40 at the door for members of NCSA and students, and $50 for non-members.
