LITERARY LUNCH . . . The sixth annual authors luncheon by Community Association for Rehabilitation (C.A.R.) will be held in Palo Alto Nov. 8. The event, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., offers residents a chance hear what the authors have to say. Confirmed guests so far include Carol Field, author of several books about food and Italy including "In Nonna's Kitchen," Thatcher Hurd, author of the children's book "Art Dog," and Dorianne Laux, a poet. Other writers are expected to confirm soon. The luncheon will be held at the Hyatt Cabana Hotel in Palo Alto. Admission for the event is $60, with proceeds benefitting C.A.R.
