COLLEGE CORNER . . . Harvard sophomore Chris Ludwick, from Palo Alto High scored the game-winning goal Sunday in an 11-10 sudden-death win over Iona in the College Water Polo Association (CWPA) Northern Championships, earning the No. 6 seed for the CWPA Eastern Championships on Nov. 12-13. Ludwick also scored two goals in a 10-4 win over Fordham and one goal in a 5-3 loss to Brown last week. He was named the Harvard Coop Athlete of the Week . . . Woodside Priory grad Cassie Perret, an outside hitter for the Santa Clara women's volleyball team, enters today's 7 p.m. match at Portland ranked 13th in the nation with her .408 hitting percentage . . . The Santa Clara men's water polo team will try to end its five-game losing streak (all by two goals or less) when it plays at UC Santa Cruz on Saturday at noon. Broncos' coach Keith Wilbur and Banana Slugs' coach Randy Whitchurch, have faced each other many times dating to the days when Wilbur was at Menlo School and Whitchurch at Castilleja. Palo Alto grad Austin Brigzys is a senior driver for Santa Clara.
