TOP GUN . . . Palo Alto High grad Katrina Zawojski has already begun to rewrite the record books for the Colgate University women's volleyball team. The freshman outside hitter recorded 31 kills in the Raiders' 30-21, 30-27, 28-30, 30-24 victory over visiting Holy Cross on Friday night in a Patriot League match. Zawojski also showed her versatility by adding 24 assists for her sixth double-double of the season. Colgate lost to conference leader Army, 30-28, 30-21, 30-21 on Saturday although Zawojski had a game-high 13 kills to go with 10 digs. She has seven double-doubles in 17 matches.

WORTHY CAUSE . . . The Menlo College women's basketball team raised nearly $5,000 for the American Red Cross and the victims of Hurricane Katrina during last week's free throw shooting challenge. Sonet Yee made 95 of 100 foul shots, while Shannon Riley was 93 of 100. Freshman Candace Cook and sophomore Amy Castillo each raised over $500. "It was a very successful event and we exceeded the expectations on campus and on our team," Castillo said. "It enriched our team chemistry greatly and we all feel good about being able to give back to those who have experienced a horrible disaster."
