WE'RE NO. 1 ... TheSociety for Human Resource Management recently announced that Genencor International of Palo Alto topped its list of the top 25 medium companies to work for in America. The organization, which defines medium companies as those employing 251-999 workers, cites medium and small-sized businesses for investing in employees to maintain an edge in the competitive corporate environment. According to a release issued by the society, Genencor is noted for balancing mentoring and assistance programs with the freedom to experiment. The company also polls employees to find out which benefits are most useful and then adjusts packages to reflect those wishes. Social hours are offered every Friday afternoon, and the company offers an extensive number of activities that include band, yoga classes, a ski club and cooking classes.

PRESIDENT'S PREMIER ... Keri Nicholas of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage , 930 Santa Cruz Ave. in Menlo Park, has been chosen as a member of the company's President's Premier, which means she ranked in the top 1 percent of 120,000 Coldwell Banker agents worldwide in terms of sales in 2004.

PRESIDENT'S CIRCLE ... Molly Westrate of Coldwell Banker's Woodside office has been named to the company's International President's Circle for ranking in the top 9 percent of Coldwell Banker's 120,000 agents worldwide during 2004. The Woodside office, led by Bill Lewis , is located at 2969 Woodside Road.

THE DIAMOND LIFE ... Stella Kitzmiller , a Coldwell Banker real estate agent in the Menlo Park office at 800 El Camino Real, has won membership in the company's International Diamond Society due to her 2004 sales, which put her among the top 8,000 agents of the 120,000 worldwide.
