EARTH DAY GARDEN . . . Jody Main, who has managed organic gardens for schools, Flea Street Café and Rosalind Creasy, will talk about "How to Start an Earth Day Summer Garden" tomorrow from 10:30 a.m. to noon at Common Ground, 559 College Ave., Palo Alto. Main will focus on the "three sisters," a Native American tradition for gardens that includes corn, beans and squash. Cost is $19. GARDENING WITH NATIVES . . . The Santa Clara Valley chapter of the California Native Plant Society will offer a workshop on gardening with native plants on Sunday, April 10, 10 a.m. to noon, at Hidden Villa, 26870 Moody Road, Los Altos Hills. WOMEN, LISTEN UP . . . Menlo Park Adult Education will present a "Homebuying for Women Seminar" on three Thursdays, April 14-28, 7 to 9 p.m. The class, taught by Carla Rayacich, CEO of Stanford Mortgage, will be held at Menlo Park Recreation Center, Room 112, 701 Laurel St., Menlo Park. The class covers obstacles to purchasing, assessing what you can afford and success strategies for smart buying. Cost is $51 ($38 for incorporated Menlo Park residents). Horticulturist Frank Nicoli will teach a class on "Basics: Spring Lawn Care" tomorrow, and Melanie Austin, who specializes in ornamental pruning and garden makeovers, will teach "Basics: Waking up Your Garden" on Saturday, April 16.Both classes meet from 9 to 11 a.m. Fee for each is $25 for non-members, $20 for members.
