This incident on its own does not tell us very much. I sincerely hope that the Weekly does a good job following up on this story and telling us what was really going on here.

Goes without saying but glad to hear Officer Doran was not seriously injured. When police are at fault (or any city employee for that matter), this forum's users are quick to register their reactions.

But seems when officer is injured in line of duty, minor as this may have been, few forum users take a moment to express appreciation for their fine work and gratitude that they're ok.

Ever wonder what is going on, Why.

This is what many people dealing with, reading about or hearing how the City of palo Alto treats employee's,residents or anyone refusing to bow down to this.(bunch of rich people) who care about no one, just there image and acting better then all the rest. And hurting anyone or thing that stands in there way.
With citizens who mostly just do not care and will not do anything about what is going on. For they are just too perfect for everyone else. Feeling that any negative comments about Palo Alto are PERSONAL comments about them.

Maybe the people in surrounding area's have just had enough of the CITY of Palo Alto and anyone or thing related or hooked to it.
After a while people will lash out at what they think and feel is evil and anything related to it. Person or Object. PALO ALTO STANDS FOR WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS WORLD. Haves being just more important then the have not's. Just people to serve them and be treated anyway the SPECIAL people see fit. Anyway!!!!

The place gets the reputation of being to good for the rest, where everything is perfect and the only wrong is from those who question there actions, there needs or wants. Anyone who does not think or feel that the SUN< SETS AND RIASES ON THE CITY OF PALO ALTO are out to get one and all in this FAKE PARADISE.
Citizens who talk about right and wrong, human rights and fair treatment for all. Gang up with the same leaders that they question anytime one speaks out against the way this CITY IS RUN..
People fight and scream for justice for the STAFF of the Children"s Theatre but, care little if at all about the rest of the VICTIMS of the City of Palo Alto.

Maybe????? It's time to take a real look in the mirror , and look at yourselves as others do.

It's a MATTER of PRIDE..... Well what have you got to feel proud about????? Not much..

Using the resources of a city to INTIMIDATE and attack the Employee's and Citizens. WOW REAL BIG PEOPLE you are........ Brave.. Funny how tough and brave one gets when the think they control all??? and have all the power...

I think it's called the, BRAVERY of BEING OUT OF RANGE!!!!! The TEFLON CITY....

Obviously this mental man had a thing against Authority to attack the officer...but, as always, you have to be aware of your surroundings, like it or not.
We do live in what some call "LaLa" land here in Palo Alto...people long before us made it what it is today, shaping what they believed would be good for the future generations..(US)..
Thanks to my hard working parents~one a fireman for Palo Alto, and my mother, who worked sodering and looking thru a microscope for H.P. for 26 years and NEVER MISSED A DAY OF WORK.
What is YOUR contribution to the future?

Mayfield child, does your mom ever put on a bunny suit just for old time's sake? I liked it better when we made stuff. As for heartless, check what Roseville does with their homeless.

Mr Wallis.. The problem starts when one wears the BUNNY suit but, The Council, Frank a long with Gary call it a Chicken suit.. Big ears, cotton tail and carrot in your hand, (What's up Doc)

Then when you correct them and say, ("You mean the BUNNY suit") Wham, Bam no job, benefits or rights and the PALO ALTO POLICE start to look in your HOME and the rest of your life. Because they have been screwing up for many years???

Oh and I trust them to do a GOOD JOB... Just like they always do.. JUST ASK THEM..

Its the BABY BOOMERS YOU NEED TO WATCH OUT FOR!!!!! How dare them grow old and ask, where is what you promised, where is what$$$$$ we trusted you with.. Funny how you hold your empty hands out to them, while you go to your city sponsored home and look out the window thinking I GOT MINE<> SUCKERS!!!!

Have you given any thought about making your rants constructive so people will care about what you've got to say. I don't mean to be disrespectful to your bottled up frustrations, but it's a lot of whining without seeking a solution.

It's obviously your choice to do so, but if you have even a passing desire to have othes discuss your posts or your wrongs (and the wrongs of all the others you refer to), perhaps you could share some specifics that the local media or watchdog groups could follow-up on.

Of course, if you really aren't interested in having your issues addressed, or these issues are fabricated, or you just can't trust anyone, then this of course would be a foolish suggestion.

wow.. Try to get your voice heard over this CITY's , Excuse me. thank you for your input.

Do you have any IDEA what you hear from the PEOPLE or GROUPS who are there to help people in my situation say.

For starters WOW FIGHT A CITY??? They have all the MONEY in the WORLD to Fight you. They will DRAG it out to punish you and break you. If your are right makes no difference. They have a group of people they pay to fight battles that they need to win. Will pay these people to see it THE CITIES WAY...

Funny how people here, on this forum and in this city do not want to here the whole story. Then when you try to tell them or try to show them proof. They have there own version of your story, People who have never met me or worked for the City of Palo Alto . KNOW what is going on.. What do you think went on in the CHILDREN"S theatre??, With Brandon the Meter reader, Ms Harrison, and the list goes on. Cassey O'neil,

I have written to the COUNCIL, Went to a Council meeting. You should see or HEAR about the City Doctors that I have seen... What a bunch of %^*&^..

I have offered to tell you and all my story... Handed it out, got feed back from past City Employee's saying yes. That is what I lived with as an PA Employee.

The thing that is most true, seems to be. Do not give people TOO much information, TOO many facts.TOO much evidence, it just confuses them .. They will think they know about something, when THEY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT IT...

Too many people want to talk and do nothing... Judge but not be JUDGED.. Its OK if its not happening to them.
I do not hide, or say I SPEAK FOR OTHERS, I have used my name... I have offered my story and history ,facts and events to prove and show what I speak of... I have mentioned that My story is just part of what needs to be said. That I will answer any question asked. In Public, with the Public being able to follow a long..
Anytime FRANK...
Does what I say sound so strange for how this City seems to FUNCTION???? or for how low someone will go to cover there "GOOD PEOPLE DOING BAD THINGS, foot steps" to keep there spot at the CITY troff.

Maybe you could ask the COUNCIL WHY I CAN NOT SPEAK at a COUNCIL meeting for more than 3 minutes... How long did they look into the Theatre capper...???

If what I say is TRUE.. WOULD LOTS OF PEOPLE START TO LOOK REAL????? BAD and vengeful?
People who have a plan to control and intimidate at any cost.... People who have CROSSED THE LINE..

ACCOUNTABILITY is something that this CITY feels does not apply to them.... It is not about picking a side..
It is about the truth and what really happened... about how you want the world around you to be run.
Do you really want to know what has gone on in the EVIL EMPIRE so many call PALO ALTO...
Do you think you can stomach it... Does the Theatre investigation not make you sick... With out having a dog in the fight???

Wow... The Solution starts with ACCOUNTABILITY, for action, mistakes, promises and following the law. Not using the law for your own personal gain to silence anyone who stands in the way of your personal plan or acts in a manner that you do not like. Thinks differently then THEM.

The solution ??? The people who are suppose to be dealing with the PROBLEMS, Seem to be the ones causing the problems???

How do you solve that?????

When the Police investigating the crime seem to have as much or more to lose then the GUILTY one's. When they seem to be AS INVOLVED with the crime as MUCH as THE GUILTY ones are..
WHO IS GUILTY.......... Both sides say someone is, sounds like someone is???

Have you found that posting your comments on PAonline has been an effective means of achieving your goal?

Assuming you respond with no.

Why do you persist?

Let's not digress and lose sight of the real issue here. This isn't about the city manager, PACT, or local politics. It's about one officer, who during the course of their duties, was assaulted in a violent manner. Duties that most of us would prefer not to think about, much less even consider undertaking. The assailant could have just as easily had a gun or knife. For you sarcastic critics who miss the point, I doubt you possess the courage, qualifications, and fortitude to take on these responsibilities. Keep it in perspective, and extend respect where it is deserved.

Edit. Why is "the moral of the story police shouldn't file reports on innocent people". Do you know something we don't know?

Nice try, wow. You described Fireman's problems exactly. I don't know why he keeps posting about Palo Alto when he admits he's from another community.

Able. Thank you very much for a lucid post. Sad to say there often aren't many.

Pete, 20 years working for the City... How much have you done for the CITIZENS of Palo Alto.
Ever risk your life for then? Ever do any work for YOUR community? I guess you like the NATZI type community you live in?

Your so fearful of the truth, you can't even be bothered with it..

I think Edit just looked at want the DA did? Like not file any charges... And used a little COMMON sense.

Lest some misunderstood, the bunny suit I referenced was the unisex overgarment worn in clean rooms, not the Playboy Club garment.

No, Mom never wore the bunny suit, but my son did when he was on Spring break one Easter. For two weeks, he donned the bunny eared suit for Macy's and put up with little kids trying to pull the fuzz off the costume tail..!
I also liked to make stuff, starting at a young age making mud pies with the neighborhood kids. Seems like others did also, as they have continued (even in this heat wave we are having) but now are slinging it instead of just playing and having fun...............too bad.
Too bad the guy who was arrested could not have directed his life into something more positive~ with a throwing arm that was on target, he could have been a great ball player..or ?? Sad to have read about this incident, both for the officer and the perpetrator.

I walk daily in Mitchell Park around the time of this assault on Officer Alisa Doran, Office: "Thanks for just being there. Hope you're OK and back on duty soon."

I have learned to walk in Palo Alto with nothing valuable, no money but I always carry my cell phone. I recommend other walkers do the same.
