Thank you for this story. I'm inspired by the compassion and commitment of these students and their partners who are reaching out to their peers. I'm also grateful for the leadership and vision of County Supervisor Joe Simitian and then-Palo Alto Mayor Karen Holman whose early support helped to create space for effective youth voices like these to be part of the solution. A lesson for me: When our City and County leaders can center the voices of those most closely affected, as leaders make decisions about investing public funds, then the chances of authentic and lasting community change go up - particularly when issues of race and equity are also involved.

Thank you so much for the youth that are involved in this peer-led mental health and wellness program. It is so beautiful to see students helping students. The impact they can have is so significant. Thank you also PA Weekly for writing this article. A much needed ray of sunshine.

How do we find out more information about Youth Connect? I am not finding details on the YCS website. A pointer to a weblink would be very helpful. Thanks.

More information about the Youth Connect program is available on the youth community service website in the Program area under the name YCI, which is the former name of the Youth Connect program.
