Members of the Palo Alto Rotary Club, Neighbors Abroad and Palo Alto city staff gather around the new “Sister Cities of Palo Alto” post, which was unveiled in front of Palo Alto City Hall Monday afternoon, March 5.

The post, conceived by Chesley Douglas Jr., was funded by the Rotary Club in collaboration with the city and Neighbors Abroad.

Palo Alto’s sister cities are Albi, France; Enschede, Netherlands; Linköping, Sweden; Oaxaca, Mexico; Palo, Philippines; and Tsuchiura, Japan.

  1. Thanks, Veronica, for covering the Neighbors Abroad sign unveiling. There are probably 200 of us from my generation who have fond memories of the Oaxaca exchange – I went in 1981 when we would go as a group of 15 kids. Cubberley would also send marching bands so maybe thousands have gone PA>OAX. In 2014 we will mark year 50 of Sister Cities here.
