High-rise fire evacuates downtown building

A fire of undetermined cause broke out in an eighth-floor apartment in downtown Palo Alto late Saturday morning, causing a complete evacuation of the high-rise residential building at Cowper Street and Forest Avenue.

Kudos to the fire department! They were quick to arrive and really did an outstanding job. I saw trucks from Menlo as well as Palo Alto. I think I counted 10 - 15 trucks - they were prepared in case it got much worse which it could have!!!!

Thank you fire fighters for all that you do!!!!!
