EPA working to build sidewalks, repair streets

East Palo Alto, which was incorporated 25 years ago, has new housing developments on new streets, complete with sidewalks. But about 25 percent of the city's streets don't have any sidewalks, creating a potential safety hazard for pedestrians, especially children walking to school.

It's a current safety hazard. So unsafe I'll DRIVE somewhere to walk in my otherwise safe area on the west side of EPA. I won't walk my dogs in the areas w/no sidewalks & feel sorry for those w/kids - but no cars to get somewhere w/sidewalks. It's been unsafe for YEARS & YEARS! And that's just the sidewalks.
