Glad to see that someone has had the wisdom to see the need for this sort of training exercise. Let's hope that problems were found, and that there will be at least one of these exercises every year.

But, given the size of this stadium, one can only wonder if those in charge of security have thought about how to deal with an act intended to inflict maximum casualties--such as an airplane loaded with fuel purposefully crashed into the stands, full of spectators?

There is another opportunity to participate and volunteer at the upcoming 4th annual Quakeville event on September 21-22.

Quakeville is an annual emergency preparedness event to engage the community to be ready when the next earthquake strikes. This year, Quakeville will have two primary goals. The first goal is to test the response capabilities of our Emergency Services Volunteers (these are your neighbors/residents who have joined the ESV Program and trained for such responses) through a simulated earthquake event. Our second goal is to educate the public by hosting a variety of informational displays and events including the opportunity to camp overnight in your own tent and your own needs away from home. Camp out was brought back by popular demand. (it is a different experience from pleasure camping, other awareness needed, such as, security for one).

We are looking for volunteers for various positions, to volunteer, go to Web Link

Thank you!

Get your act together Palo Alto Weekly. Based on the headline I thought there was an explosion at the Stanford Stadium, and I'm sure I wasn't the only one. You got me to click on the article, but c'mon!
