Disposing of computer monitor

Original post made by Dave, Professorville, on Sep 13, 2007

Does anyone know how one goes about disposing of/recycling a computer monitor in P.A.? The city website gives incomplete info, and I'm getting the runaround when I email them about it. Thanks.

GreenCitizen on El Camino at about San Antonio accepts monitors. I think PASCO will only take them if they are working.

The dump accespts them for a fee, working or not. They are then picked up by a recylcing firm. They do not get buried.

hp accepts used electronic stuff, see their web site. They claim it is recycled or disposed of in an environmentally couth manner. They charge for picking it up ($29 for a monitor), but send you coupons for the equivalent to the charge for their ink. I don't know if you could just leave it off.
