Beware: I have heard of people getting tickets for crossing the tracks during the short period after the lights start flashing but before the arms start to come down. Unfortunately, railroad crossings have no equivalent to a yellow light.

About a year ago, I also saw a SamTrans bus quickly cross the tracks after the bells started ringing. Very reckless. Hope someone got the number of today's bus and reported it to SamTrans. Otherwise, I'm sure they could check the schedule to determine who was driving.

Some SamTrans driver is probably trying to explain the scratched paint on his/her bus to the boss right about now. This incredibly reckless act not only endangered the bus passengers, it could have derailed the train.

Is this a version of hit and run since the bus didn't stop after crossing the tracks, though they must have known they snapped off the crossing arm and had a close call with a train just seconds away? I certainly hope police follow up.

The passengers must have been terrified! I hope se era. Of then, at least, reported the driver to Sam Trans!

A couple of years ago, I was coming out of Walgreen's on Middlefield and saw a VTA bus run a stoplight ( not the first time I have seen that, either). I wrote down the bus number and called to report it when I got home.

Don't miss out on the discussion!
