Malala Yousufzai is standing!!!

Original post made by Gary, Downtown North, on Oct 19, 2012

This girl from Pakistan, who stood up against the war on women, is on her feet, barely. She is still defiant in her support of womens' rights in the Taliban terrorist pit that she lives in. She is capable of writing notes, and she does not back up one step, even though she is still on the Taliban hit list.

She deserves the Nobel Peace Prize...NOW! I suggest that the Nobel Committee get over its pride and arrogance, and cancel their absurd choice of giving it to the EU.

Obama and Romney need to make her story central in the next debate, if they are serious on the war against women. It is a story about fundamental freedom for women.

This is good news, her progress is excellent and the British people are rallying round for her. I have seen her story updated on channel 2 news, but not sure where else it is being followed, other than the BBC.

Thank whatever superior being and higher power! I have heard so many conflicting stories. I sincerely hope that this poor girl does not have to return to Pakistan, and that her health will continue to improve.

She was very nearly made a martyr! How could anyone be so evil as to shoot a young girl! The Taliban really shot themselves in the foot (no pun intended) when they did such a monstrous thing!

I can't understand why this is of so little interest to people. A 14 year old child was shot in the head by the Taliban because she believes girls should be educated!

This is so abhorrent that one would think it would spell the end for the Taliban, since they certainly went too far this time.

I heard on the. Ews this weekend that her parents are with her in England now, her prognosis is looking a lot better.
