Michael O'Neill has performed with several of the Bay Area's big bands, including a two-year stint with the Contemporary Jazz Orchestra. Kenny Washington sings with more than a four-octave range. June 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Downtown Jazz, 2600 block of Broadway, Redwood City.

at least these are musical events. also consider going to the stanford jazz workshops that happen annually
