South Palo Alto Fisker begins to flicker

Original post made by qq, Barron Park, on Feb 6, 2012

Another gov green money backed company starts to flicker out.

"Electric car maker and U.S. loan recipient Fisker cuts jobs"

Web Link

"The move highlights Fisker's continuing problems, which have mounted in recent months -- and is a reminiscent of advanced solar panel maker Solyndra and battery-maker Ener1, which received similar federal backing before falling into bankruptcy."

I've started seeing Chevy Volts around town, hope the owners keep a fire extinguisher handy.

I know this thread is about Fisker, but since you mentioned Volt...
Besides the supposed fire risk, my issue with the volt is that it looks a lot like a Prius to me. Why would I buy a Chevy that looks like a Prius, when I could buy a Prius, which has been through several generations of design tweaks, and is clearly a very, very good car? It makes no sense.
Now the concept Volts looked REALLY cool, but somewhere between the concept and production, they decided to go with another kidney bean with one end sliced off with a razor blade.
The Leaf on the other hand, (and I know its sort of like comparing apples and oranges) is a very cool looking little car! Plus, as that great ad points out, it doesn't use any gas at all.
