If you must burn, please do it only on rainy days. The smoke is choking our kids. Thank you.

I would like to see some pollution statistics - where does our pollution come from. According to the Spare the air web site in summertime "mobile sources - particularly cars and light duty trucks - are the biggest source of Bay Area air pollution, contributing 75 percent of the emission inventory"

But is burning wood really the major source in winter? I understand that burning wood or trash is very dirty but do we burn that much of it to make a difference?

And what of the other sources? Would electrifying Caltrain make a difference? What if everyone got a new car - how much of a difference would that make?

Air pollution was especially bad today, even here in Palo Alto, which is usually better than the south bay. Saturday is another Spare The Air Day. Please do your part for all our kids health. Don't light up until the next rain storm helps to clean the air. Thank you.
