Obnoxious sports broadcasters

Original post made by Bob, Duveneck/St. Francis, on Mar 5, 2007

In desperation we finally put the TV on 'mute' in order to watch the Pac-10 Women's
Basketball Tournament from H-P Pavillion. Those two announers, especiallly the woman, Mary Murphy, were just plan bad and never shut up even to take a breath. Tonight, the final
was the worse. The female announcer was so pathetically pro-Arizona. It's one thing to listen on the radio, but quite another to have to listen to this drivel while watching on TV and seeing what is going on.

I would actually pay money to be able to watch sports on tv with no announcers. If you use mute, you lose the crowd noise, with is actually part of the game. Or with ice dancing, you lose the music.

It is also the advertising in the commercial breaks that are offensive. It is the children in my home that watch sport on tv and the breaks are filled with commercials for beer and viagra, as well as promotions for tv shows unsuitable for children. How unfair that I have to monitor the breaks in the action when they are really enjoying the game.
