Elle Logan -- who took a year off from studies and athletics at Stanford in '07-'08 to compete for the US Olympic team -- captured a gold medal earlier today at the Beijing Olympics.

Elle rowed in the Women's 8+ for the US; the US took gold in this race for the first time since 1984.
