Salman Rushdie to speak at Stanford Monday

Author Salman Rushdie, winner of Britain's Booker Prize for fiction and the recipient of a British knighthood, will speak at 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 5, at Kresge Auditorium at Stanford.

I looked up the Stanford announcement and there's no topic given. Also says the event is open only to people affiliated with the university.

For obvious reasons, related to the basic ideology of Islam, which allows "fatwas" like this one, there will need to be major security. My question is: Will the lefties at Stanford object to profiling and possible body frisks by uniformed and non-uniformed police? If so, why? If not, why not?
