Midtown Safeway remodel

I went to Safeway at lunch time today. I managed to park quite well, considering the number of spaces taken up due to the remodeling. I asked some helpful, but tired, employees to help me find things that had been moved. I shivered due to the cold and walked over the bare concrete floors and smiled. I put up with the noise and refrained from taking earplugs that had been so thoughtfully provided for us, the customers. I discovered that no, there will be no bakery as part of the remodel (isn't that what we were told we were getting when they first started this?) and yes, the whole of the parking lot will have to be restriped. I couldn't find out what benefits we are actually getting for this particular remodel, but it must be only a few years since the last.
I am therefore asking exactly what we are going to get for all this inconvenience? Will we get more parking spaces? Will we get more than the one bench to eat the lunch we buy at the deli? Will we get any of the fabulous take home dinners that Piazza's and Whole Foods offer? Will we get less deliveries in the middle of the day so that we can take our carts around the aisles and reach the shelves we want without delivery people having to move?
In other words, are we getting anything?
