Door to door scammer on Wellsbury Way in Midtown

Original post made by Rajesh Kumar, JLS Middle School, on Sep 28, 2007

This morning, the folks on Wellsbury Way in midtown Palo Alto got hit by a scammer. A middle-aged man claimed to live on such and such address on Wellsbury way and claimed to have locked himself out of his car with is wallet in his car. Further, he claimed to be unable to contact his wife and that AAA would not pry open his car door unless he paid them. He collected $20 from some one I know and perhaps some money from other neighbors. When a woman in the neighborhood got suspicious, he ran away.

Beware - he might strike another Palo Alto neighborhood soon.

What a shame...
Too bad that people (like the one you speak of) waste their time trying to spoof the public, risking jail, when they could be on the stage making money as the actor they are trying to portray!!!!!!!
