Well said Ezra and Benjamin! At the end of the day the voices of affected students are the most important. I hope you are able to constructively engage with staff at PAUSD and find solutions that meet student needs.

The time is now:
Palo Alto residents and Menlo Park residents deserve flood protection now; extensive work was done on behalf of East Palo Alto residents years ago.

Well said!
Thank you PAO for FINALLY listening to the students!

Why does this community feel compelled to hold back student achievement in these passionate STEM students?
Why is PAUSD insisting on forcing students to choose between math they are EXPECTED to take (this is the class after BC Calculus) and the extracurricular activities that inspire them and give them a social life?
By forcing these students to go to night school, the Palo Alto school system is basically sabotaging these students' success and happiness.

For those students/families/admins threatened by these passionate STEM Students:
Don't you realize you're promoting a value system in which achieving your/your student's career goals requires holding back other students rather than rising to meet the challenge of having excellent colleagues?
If a student does NOT take multivariable calculus, wouldn't they be doing other things that are more aligned with the kind of person they want to be? Perhaps we need more college counselors to help these students understand that taking every, single, advanced class is NOT what colleges expect nor is it humanly possible to do well!
The Math Instructional Lead at Gunn gave several great alternatives to multivariable calculus.

Hey wait...
WHY IN THE WORLD IS THE MATH INSTRUCTIONAL LEAD INSISTING THAT MULTIVARIABLE CALCULUS IS NOT ALLOWED IN PAUSD?
Most of the surrounding high schools have this class during the school day and these are the students who are competing with PAUSD students. Not providing multivariable calculus is basically blocking our students from being competitive. But maybe that is the goal?

Let ALL our students grow and respect their choices.
Value and support these precious, hard-working, passionate students!
Someday they will profoundly help our society with their innovation.
