Palo Alto lands $6M grant for rail improvements

Palo Alto received a welcome boost this week for its ambitious effort to reconfigure the rail crossings at Churchill Avenue, Meadow Drive and Charleston Road when U.S. Rep Anna Eshoo announced a $6 million grant for the project.

Since we are still a long way from any decisions let alone starting work, is this going to end up being wasted?

At least there is money allocated. It is a drop in the bucket - the longer it takes for the project to start, the smaller this amount will seem like.
