I imagine the other Dry Cleaners, coffee shops and brunch places nearby have had a windfall from extra customers due to this. I hope they can be asked to contribute also.

There's also unemployment benefits and doesn't anyone have fire insurance any more? EDD exists to help people who lost their job through no fault of their own, to get back to work, and provide 6 months of benefits which is plenty of time to find a job. With a reported shortage of workers (or at least that's what we've been told) for at least the last year there should be no problem getting a job with comparable pay and benefits. And when the businesses are re-built, the employees can go back to work on Middlefield.

This is the same AJ’s owner who got into trouble with the Feds?

Any update on what caused the fire or when work will start to remodel the businesses?

Or is it the Palo Alto way to let this ugly site remain untouched for years?
