“Each of us was sent here to solve problems.”

Nothing more frightening than hearing, “I’m from the government and I’m here to help.”

@John, Dianne Feinstein was installed into the Mayor's chair in SF after the assassination of George Moscone and Harvey Milk. She fulfilled those duties for years and then she branched out, becoming CA's first female Senator. She has served faithfully and well throughout her decades of public service. If anybody knocked on my door saying they were from the government and came to help, I would hope it was Feinstein. I don't always agree with her but I would trust her. I hope Katie Porter takes her place.

I have found Dianne Feinstein to be a largely effective executive and legislator and reasonably centrist. That was pleasant for me - and appreciated by me - from my childhood through middle life as a California resident - as she served in several capacities.

Her replacement will be selected by our governor (if she cannot complete her term) or voted in (if she does) and I expect it to be from a choice of far Left candidates and not someone particularly eminent. That’s the way it goes now in California.
