Does anyone know yet if Eileen Gu gave up her US citizenship to be on the Chinese team? If so, that is reprehensible. She was born and raised in the USA. I read that she is doing the Olympics for China because they have such a huge population that it will benefit her financially as she can sell her "brands" to more people. If that is the case, Stanford should not be proud to have her as a student. Too bad it seems to be all about the money these days....in many sports.

Stanford has enrolled many, many Chinese citizens over the years. Gu made her decision when she was 15. She is advancing her career, not unlike a large number of students from the US and around the world. We'll see if her career goals interfere with her education at Stanford.
