This recipe was submitted by Grace Jensen, wife of Arnold Jensen Sr. Both the Gemellos and the Jensens were parishioners at St. Joseph Church in Mountain View, and children of both families went to St. Joseph School. I am happy to say that I knew them all!

Thanks for adding to the local history, Cathy! Grace ("Mrs. A.") Jensen (I'm grateful to John M. Gemello for explaining her full name and connection) also contributed other recipes to the Wine Advisory Board cookbook series.
The series (work on which began in 1961) produced six cookbooks containing 2800 recipes from some 400 contributors ("re-tested and proven in Wine Advisory Board test kitchens"). The books are available inexpensively from online booksellers; some copies actually are in "new" condition because about 20 years ago, SF's Wine Appreciation Guild reprinted them in facsimile editions, and inventory from those reprintings remains on the market.
