Bravo! It's about time. This should have been done about a year ago. The unvaccinated are making an emotional decision and they will never be persuaded by facts. To them, facts are inconveniences that must be ignored like white noise. It's too bad so many people have to forced into getting vaccinated. They need to feel some pain because pain is a great motivator.

So, based on the pie chart, SCC has close to zero omicron infections? How is that possible?

I suspect the county is looking at rate of increase in the omicron variant. The total may be small right now but increasing. I note the number of cases, all variants, per 100,000 in Santa Clara is rapidly increasing which you can see at Web Link or perhaps a bit easier at Web Link
My guess is most of those are omicron

I think the unvaccinated should have to pay a fair extra health insurance premium for the risk they are taking (and imposing on the rest of us). Why should others who did vaccinate have to pay for their "right to choose"? As they demand the right to choose, they should accept responsibility for covering the costs of intensive medical care that are necessitated by that choice.

We'd be in a very different place right now if we had greater cooperation.

"I think the unvaccinated should have to pay a fair extra health insurance..."

With the exception of smoking, he ACA made it illegal for insurance companies to engage is shenanigans like that (I'm sure they'd be happy to get more money). So no dice under the current Federal laws. And good luck passing anything new when it comes to the ACA!
