Teen substance use treatment center in East Palo Alto shutters after few show up for services

In 2018, San Mateo County launched a substance abuse treatment clinic in East Palo Alto for troubled youth, but it failed to draw many teens in need of drug treatment and shuttered last year.

It’s very sad to see a community partner have to shutter their doors, but glad to see they will still be offering services in East Palo Alto.

Adolescent Counseling Services (ACS) has an outpatient program, our Adolescent Substance Abuse Treatment program, that offers assessments, outpatient services, and caregiver support to youth ages 10-25 and their family members on a sliding scale. We offer virtual services right now, but also maintain offices in Palo Alto and Redwood City.
