Fundraising for sports?

Can someone tell me about the sports fundraising emails that are being sent? I heard the Athletic Director of Paly controls all the money now, not the Sports Boosters Board. Where is the accountability? Isn't it illegal to force public school students to fundraise? We are teaching them to ask for handouts before they become adults.
