Thank you for this information. I suspect there will still be those who are taken by surprise by the closure.
What is really important, is whether this project is back on target and whether the bridge will open on time. The tunnel being closed has been problematic particularly with difficulties in finding parking in the Baylands on warm weekends.

Isn't the underpass open only seasonally? That is, I believe it's closed every year until mid-April.

It as been 10 days since this article and I have still seen no word from the City as to what happened. Nothing said about what permit was not obtained nor whose responsibility it was to obtain it. And no word yet about how long it will be before it is rescheduled. Why isn't that information forthcoming? Can The Weekly please get it pried loose?
