When are PAUSD grades 6-12 returning to in-person instruction?
I thought families had to select all remote or a hybrid option back in November.

I never saw any announcements that PAUSD decided to go all remote.
Their website says hybrid starts this month:
"Palo Alto Unified School District will offer options of either hybrid (in-person) or full distance (at-home) learning beginning January 2021 for middle and high school students. Parents/Guardians must select the learning model for their child no later than November 18th at 5:00pm. The choice is binding through the end of the school year. This is the official selection commitment."

Teacher unions don't want teachers to go back to classroom instruction. They aren't concerned with the education of children. Most teachers I know are in lock step with the union. What unions are concerned about is throwing their weight around in state politics and getting their way with almost everything they demand.

Here's a novel idea. Freeze all teacher salaries until COVID is done. Everyone else is sacrificing on some level. They should join the crowd.

@What will they do next
Why do teachers unions not want teachers to go back to the classroom?
Well, we are in a raging pandemic and it’s not safe for students or staff. [Portion removed.] Teachers don’t have to sacrifice. They sacrifice enough during normal times where their lives are not in danger. Schools are closed. Teachers are getting paid and working from home. [Portion removed.] Thank you teachers union for keeping students, staff, and families safe. What will they do next doesn’t comprehend the dangers of a highly transmissible respiratory illness with no known cure until the vaccines are distributed.

I understand teachers are close to next up to get the vaccine. How will this impact in-person teaching?
