Maybe it was the crowds of people coming to see the Christmas Creche.

Very lucky in the timing of this. At almost any other time during the day this road is very busy and pedestrians, bikes and cars could have been hit. Not only that, but the traffic congestion this would have caused during the morning or afternoon commute.

Very pleased nobody was hurt.

@Crowds,
I'm just curious -- did you mean to be snarky? Or not? Was your comment just willfully ignorant, or did you cast aspersions on something completely unrelated to root decay fungus on purpose?

It's more just very lucky that this happened at night rather than during rush hour.

The creche exhibit is lovely. I've never seen hoards of people walking over tree roots. (Is it just that you have nothing better to do?)

Scotty is a registered user.

Did anyone actually hear it fall?

It probably fell over from all of the dewatering that goes on in Palo Alto. Dried up roots and just gave way. There's a little snarky for you. And why in the world would someone have a problem with the lovely Christmas Creche which invites everyone from the community to come see and spread Christmas cheer.
