'He was in a position of trust': Nursing assistant who raped patient sentenced to 12 years in prison

A former Webster House nursing assistant who pleaded no contest to rape and oral copulation of an incapacitated, 72-year-old woman at the skilled-nursing facility in downtown Palo Alto was sentenced to 12 years in prison on Thursday.

Absolutely frightening!!! Too bad they couldn't prove the alleged 2015 incident against him, this patient might have been spared.

Do these care facilities do police background checks on potential hires? Seems that would be a requirement. This guy might have already had a rap sheet.
