Crime at Stanford in 2017: Hate crimes up, sexual offenses flat

Original post made on Oct 3, 2018

An annual report released by Stanford University last week shows that hate crimes have increased sharply over the last two years while sexual offenses have remained relatively steady, among other categories of campus crimes.

Are hate crimes increasing because of Trump? Or are they reported more consistently because of Trump?

18 rapes in one year is still 18 too many.

The painted hate crimes could be coming from various outsiders/non-students with an agenda of their own. Many are seeking publicity.

Being a world-renowned and highly prestigious university, the reportage of such questionable actions carries far more media interest and attention than say, if it happened at a lower level school like San Jose State or the other one in Hayward.

Saying we should focus on the location and not the crime itself?

Did none of you read the part of the article that said it’s believed be ONE person responsible for all 22 incidents of hate crime? Not sure how you fit this into the “it’s all Trump” narrative. And typical that the headline implies there’s a larger problem than there actually is. It’s one nutcass.

One nutcase who's just begging to be caught given the 22 incidents. He is playing a game and crying out for some form of acknowledgment. Pathetic.

"Not sure how you fit this into the “it’s all Trump” narrative."

I didn't "fit" this into the Trump "narrative".

Perhaps you may want to read the available facts used to answer the question posed by resident: "Hate crimes rose the day after Trump was elected, FBI data show"

You can't blame Donald Trump for that. He's just got some goofy followers who border on the lunatic fringe.

Would 'Love crimes' have risen if Hillary had been elected POTUS? Ask Bill.

"Would 'Love crimes' have risen if Hillary had been elected POTUS? Ask Bill." Nice deflection from FBI data.

Wow. Awesome move so far afield - decades, even! Funny though, in fact, we should have used allowed the FBI to ask Bart the K, the beer swilling Renata Alumnus.

Oh, my bad! The FBI was prevented from interviewing Bart OR Dr. Ford [portion removed,]

22 hate crime incidents that the university police believe that just one person is responsible cannot be blame on Trump. I’m no Trump supporter too.

Ted: who blamed Trump?

I'm sorry you missed it, but the FBI data was an answer to a question by the first poster: "Are hate crimes increasing because of Trump?"

Nationally, the answer, according to FBI data, appears to be "yes".

Besides, your statement highlights that we do not yet know how many people are/were involved: "...the university police *believe* that just..."

When arrested and tried, we'll know more.

Curious. What is a 'Love crime'? Assault with a friendly weapon?

All these rw's that for some reason always go back to Clinton.

Who led the attack on Clinton?

3 time cheater and liar newt Gingrich, who was removed from office on ethics charges.

To be replaced by Bob Livingston, who cheated on his wife and quit.

Who replaced him? Dennis Hastert.

The pedophile.

Yet they harp on some Clinton meme.

How utterly stupid. Are they completely ignorant of facts?
