  1. A teenager was killed in a solo crash on Skyline last week (CHP said excessive speed caused the crash). Last month, a bicyclist was hit by pack of 4 motorcycles (bicyclist suffered serious injuries, motorcyclists fled the scene and have not been found). Drivers may be encouraged to speed on Skyline by the lack of traffic, but there are many curves where you cannot see how sharp the curve is as you approach it and can easily find yourself out-of-control if the curve is sharper than you expected. Don’t blame the road, this is a narrow ridge and road builders had limited options for road design. Please slow down if you are using this road. If you want to enjoy the scenery, then park your car at one of the numerous turnouts or trailheads. These fatalities are all preventable if people behave themselves.

  2. The young man killed this morning was my 2nd cousin. To say his family is devastated is an understatement.

Let the CHP do its investigation. And please, if you witnessed the accident, please contact the CHP.

  3. My son died up on skyline hwy 35 on sept 8,2016 as a passenger of a vehicle that was speeding and lost control.
I am reading and seeing there are So many fatalities up on this road as it is in A unincorporated area and the chp nor the sheriffs dept rarely patrol hwy 35 because it changes jurisdictions..
There are so many people dying up there on a annual basis and no one is doing anything…
Please help get something done with me before someone you love that is very young no longer exist because of politics …
