MORE ON MUSHROOMS ... Local residents can make friends with fungi on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2-3:30 p.m., at Common Ground Garden, 687 Arastradero Road, Palo Alto. During the event, Debbie Viess, who has studied fungi for more than 25 years, will talk about the habits of these organisms, giving examples from her garden and beyond. Participants will get to see edible, deadly, strange and beautiful mushrooms. The talk costs $20. Info: bit.ly/MushroomsFeb6
