East Palo Alto Police are investigating a shooting that left a 31-year-old city resident dead Sunday night.

The San Mateo County coroner’s office identified the man as Jarmal Marquise Magee.

Around 9:30 p.m., officers received a call reporting of shots fired in the 300 block of Wisteria Drive, according to police.

The caller told police they heard shots, followed by someone screaming. Multiple calls to police then came in to report that a person had been shot, police said.

When officers arrived on scene, officers found Magee suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency crews treated him before transporting him to the hospital, where he died from his injuries, police said in a press release.

Police have identified a possible suspect, but officers have not made any arrests in connection with the shooting.
